In the spring of 2000, I attended the big annual Key West Songwriters Festival, a job some barrel small (Freudian slip – I mean "leg work") with my old friend (and original founder KWSF), Drew Reid.
The KWSF is one of the best of its kind, and like in the old city of Key West (FL), however, means only oughta make the feast for your next vacation. A can not miss big time!
But anyway, this KWSF particular, I saw a very sweet young womanunder the name Tia Sillers sing this song announced: "Incidentally, this is the first single from the new album by Lee Ann Womack."
Nobody, probably never heard the song. I did not. And while it was obviously a really great song, honestly, with a dozen great songwriters hit the bill, and old friends around, and beautiful tropical climate … and a barrel or two (ahem), t the song didn 'have an impact on what was to follow are based.
Help KeyWest to the multi-event day, I heard Lee Ann's "I Hope You Dance" at the radio for the first time gave me chills, even in the heat of midday, especially after having just met Tia Sillers, and I heard them perform the song. I knew it was a great success … Who does not?
Only a couple of songs from the last thirty years or more of popular music have left indelible marks on society, ranging from "I Hope You Dance was left." Heck Oprah was reading the texts on their show! (And if you think that Oprahwell … doggy ooh!)
It 'a great GREAT SONG. It speaks in the depths of the human soul. E 'pop music as art and poetry at its peak.
The public agrees: "I Hope You Dance" won the Grammy in 2001, won CMA, ACM, NSAI, ASCAP and BMI song of the year. Reached number 14 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and # 1 on Country and AC charts.
It was getting a song in the career of Lee Ann, and writers.
(Gee Whiz, Lee Ann Womack on the songannual award of the Nobel Peace Prize Concert – 2000 – Tribute to the winners!)
Tia Sillers said, "I Hope You Dance" by Mark D. brave Nashville Sanders. Mark D. co-author of "Blue Clear Sky", a # 1 for George Strait (with Bob and John Jarrard Dipiero) and a dozen pieces of important artists. Brought together again with Tia for Alan Jackson's "Alright That Be had to write."
I think it was already next year, once again I crossed with TIA. I would like to recall here that the TIAphenomenal married singer / songwriter / guitartist Mark Selby. People often confuse the "Mark", co-author of "Dance", Mark D. Sanders, Tia and her husband, Mark O. Selby. It is not the same guy at all, but Mark Selby is a highly successful songwriter in his own right. This trademark and Tia as a co-author of the Dixie Chicks to break strike 'out, "There's Your Trouble" (from Wide Open Spaces) and the greatest song ever in the career of blues-rocker Kenny Wayne Shepherd "blue on black. "A couple eclecticeh?
Among other things, 's Mark Selby storms more Comin', in the opinion of the listener, is one of the greatest blues-rock in recent memory. Know what it takes. More Storms Comin 'was the debut of Mark on Vanguard Records.
Anyway, back to history. The next time I hooked up with Mark and Tia, in another Songwriters Festival in Florida (always produced by Drew Reid), Mark and Tia, I, Kostas hit songwriter and singer from Durango, Lisa Blue, was on a lostFishing boat all night in the cold (it was in January and unusually cold) for these parts, when the boat ran aground in shallow waters. We were there until dawn, and the incident is a great (and funny – but not at the time) of memory for all of us … "" Life can mean that the opportunities, but it's worth … "
Here are the words beautiful and inspiring, "I Hope You Dance." (Words and Music: Tia Sillers and Mark D. Sanders)
I hope you never lose your Sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat, but still that hunger
You can not be a singe breathe naturally
And God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you are near the sea
Whenever one door closes I hope to open a further
Promise me that faith gives the real opportunity
And if the opportunity to sit or dance
I Hope You Dance, I hope that you> Dance
I hope you never afraid of the mountains in the distance
And never resolve the path of least resistance
Living might mean that the opportunities, but it's worth
Loving might be a mistake, but it's worth
Do not let some aid heart leaves bitter
When you get close to rethink Sale
Enter Pasing the sky more than a glance
And if you choose to sit or dance on it
IHope You Dance, I Hope You Dance
I Hope You Dance, I Hope You Dance
I hope you still feel small when you are near the sea
Whenever one door closes I hope to open a further
Promise to give you the belief that the possibility of fighting
And if you choose to sit or dance on it
Dance, I Hope You Dance
I Hope You Dance, I Hope You Dance
Especially (and unfortunately)"Poetry Sites", of which there are many, as a rule, not after, actually wrote the song. For example, you will be credited to see this track on the entire Web, Lee Ann Womack, who is undoubtedly the song a hit (along with producer Mark Wright), but I have not written myself. Regarding this particular song is often a more frequent and unfortunate (for the reader) failed: The text sung in the background. These words add depth and meaning of the song:
Time is a wheel in constantMovement
always roll forward
Anyone want to go back to the years and ask how glad
If those years are gone?
I Hope You Dance. – JH
